In Ibirataia, south of Bahia in Brazil, Selma Abddon Calheira began experimenting with little clay forms that eventually developed into a collection of stunning terracotta fruits and vegetables. Over the years she researched the possibilities of clay and painting and taught local people in her studio to become highly skilled ceramists. The name comes from Selma’s lifelong interest in clay and natural pigments. We just love the playful collection of fruits – some giant size – that will enliven any home here in the Algarve.
